Slut Talk Society is a educational, empowerment community for women seeking to cultivate a sex-positive, feminist lifestyle and create bonds with other women seeking the same. Created by Alicia Swiz, Slut Talk Society brings us together to reflect on the nuances of our individual gender identity as it relates to the culturally accepted identity of "woman." Slut Talk Society is ideal for women with a desire to:
Understand how cultural gender roles influence your lived experience.
Explore how gender roles, shame and desire are defined through media and pop-culture.
Cultivate their own Erotic voice through storytelling.
Build healthy relationships with other women.
That's me! I'm an educator and storyteller who facilitates dialogues that inspire critical thinking about gender through comedy, storytelling, and media literacy. I am committed to creating spaces for women’s voices to be amplified. A Jersey girl by way of North Carolina, I've been a professor of Media & Gender Studies for 10 years and recently served as Program Director for the Virginia Tech Women’s Center. A pop culture enthusiast, my writing has been published by Esquire, Chicago Reader, Role Reboot and others. I hold an MA in Women’s & Gender Studies from UNC -Greensboro, a BA in Sociology from UNC - Wilmington and in Fall 2021 I will begin a doctorate program at TBD.
